We go deep to unlock insight and help institutionalize effective management by going beyond the legitimate consulting functions.
It is more than just giving advice
The traditional consulting approach focus on the explicit goals of an engagement that are covered in the first four steps of the pyramid diagram above. These are the legitimate functions of any consulting assignment. A consultant would only go beyond these if it is explicitly stated in the scope of the assignment.
However, a recent article published by Harvard Business School explains that consultants need to go beyond the traditional consulting approach and should strive to achieve more "aspirational" goals which are stated at the top of the pyramid. This will significantly reduce the chances of poorly implemented recommendations.
Hence, we have incorporated the 'additional" goals in our approach to ensure effective implementation. We make sure we go beyond the traditional consulting pathway and give help our clients implement our recommendations by:
- Building consensus and commitment
- Facilitating client learning and capacity building
- improving organizational effectiveness
